Many women, and
couples, that suffer a sexless marriage may eventually find
some help in a new drug that is nearing production. The drug
is called PT-141 and research has indicated that it seems
to turn on girl rats. Palatin Technologies of Cranbury, N.J.,
have concluded tests on rats only, not on human beings. But,
as usual, rats go first when it comes to testing new drugs!
yes, PT-141, which mimics a pituitary hormone, did make female
rats more seductive. Go figure. It is assumed that if female
rats have increased sexual desire, so will women. Researches
reported that the drugged female rats behaved in ways intended
to attract male rat attention. They even assumed postures
that invited sexual activity. So, if PT-141 helps with sex
problems with rats, why not humans?
Palatin is currently conducting tests on women, but they wont
be complete for some time. I’m tracking the progress
of PT-141 and will publish updates as they are produced by
the researchers and manufacturers.
PT-141 is being tested for its effectiveness with males. It
seems to improve their erectile response, but in higher doses
does lead to nausea in some men.
PT-141 becomes commercially available it will be the first
medication produces specifically to enhance a woman’s
could be huge for couples who are stuck in a sexless marriage.
remember what we found with Viagra! Just because the biology
works, doesn’t necessarily mean the mind, psyche, and
spirit will work. Plenty of couples are able to have sex with
Viagra, but not all are willing. It is naïve to think
that a drug will fix all problems.
could be of tremendous help, however, and it bears watching.
